Peter Halliday has worked for over 30 years in the petroleum industry or as a consultant. His primary areas of expertise include process technology, refining, petrochemicals, and pipelines. Peter also has experience in lube oil basestock manufacture, planning and economics, supply logistics, and project management. While working with a major oil company, Peter was involved in extended project assignments in both Japan and Saudi Arabia. The latter involved the design, start-up, operation, and feedstock supply for a new export refinery in the Kingdom.
Since becoming a consultant in 1991, Peter has conducted feasibility studies, due diligence reviews, and valuations for a large number of refinery and petrochemical assets. He has also directed performance evaluations and operations improvement initiatives on refineries located in both Europe and Asia. More recently, he has evaluated technologies for gas-to-liquids and biodiesel production. Peter’s dispute resolution assignments have included: construction in the offshore, gas plant, and power plant sectors; operational responsibilities in the pipeline sector; refinery business interruption claims; and operational negligence in the refining and distribution sectors.
Peter has provided expert testimony in a number of international arbitrations.
