Amy Kalt and Dan Finelt authored an article on how ethanol blended into gasoline can reduce the carbon intensity of the resulting fuel. The article provides an overview of how ethanol is produced, its historical role in meeting the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), and how ethanol will play a part in reaching the goals of the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS).
