What is PRISM?
PRISM is a powerful tool for refining industry analysis. PRISM combines a unique and comprehensive industry database with a robust refinery simulator. The Database contains information about refinery capacities, configurations, crude runs, production profiles, product distribution patterns, cost structures, and financial performance. The Simulator enables extensive analysis of specific refinery performance in response to a range of variables, such as changes to crude slate, changes in refinery configuration, or changes in product specifications.
PRISM licensees can also subscribe to any or all of four available Data Services: the U.S. Data Service (USDS), the Canadian Data Service (CANDS) , the European Data Service (EDS), and the Asia-Pacific Data Service (APDS). The USDS is updated quarterly while the other Data Services are updated annually. The USDS includes a comprehensive quarterly analysis of the industry environment and performance of essentially all U.S. refineries and data are available beginning with calendar year 1995. The CANDS begins with data for 2007 and includes all Canadian refineries. The EDS begins with data for 2005 and currently includes 72 refineries. The new APDS begins with data for 2008 and currently covers 16 refineries. Licensees are also able to build their own models of refineries not included in our subscription services.
