Following are some of the industry associations of which we are members or maintain relationships.
American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE)
The AIChE is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1908, which "provides forums to advance the theory and practice of the profession, upholds high professional standards and ethics, and supports excellence in education." It represents members in industry, academia, and government.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
The ASME was founded in 1880 and is "a 120,000-member professional organization focused on technical, educational and research issues of the engineering and technology community. ASME conducts one of the world's largest technical publishing operations, holds numerous technical conferences worldwide, and offers hundreds of professional development courses each year."
National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA)
The NPRA's purpose is to promote the general welfare of its members by "gathering and disseminating historical and scientific information and statistics pertaining to the petroleum refining and petrochemical manufacturing industries." Another objective of NPRA is to "promote environmental improvement and provide an effective channel of communication between...members and other associations, government, and the public."
Gas Processors Association (GPA)
The GPA "is an organization of operating and producing companies engaged in the processing of natural gas. It has become the focal point of progress and the clearing-house for issues and developments in the gas processing industry. GPA today is an incorporated, non-profit trade association made up of approximately 140 corporate members, all of whom are engaged in the processing of natural gas into a merchantable pipeline gas, or in the manufacture, transportation, or further processing of liquid products from natural gas."
International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE)
The IAEE is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1977, "which has members in over 70 nations, who strive to provide an interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas, experience and issues among professionals interested in energy economics." Their main objective is "to provide for the mutual association of persons interested in energy economics in order to create a forum for professional, multinational discussion and to provide a means of professional communication and exchange for these persons."
The Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE)
Since 1956, AACE "has provided its members with the resources they need to enhance their performance and ensure continued growth and success. With about 5,500 members world-wide, AACE International serves cost management professionals: cost managers and engineers, project managers, planners and schedulers, estimators and bidders, and value engineers. AACE International has members in 78 countries and currently includes 70 local sections."
National Energy Services Association (NESA)
NESA is a non-profit organization whose members share a common expertise in energy services, natural gas transportation and trading, electricity generation, transmission, and related services. NESA offers its technical expertise to policymakers within government and industry, with the objective of developing programs to promote efficient transmission and use of energy.
CFA Society of Houston and CFA Institute
The CFA Society of Houston, Inc., founded in 1955, promotes the highest professional and ethical standards within the investment community and maintains ongoing educational and certification opportunities for its members. It is affiliated with the CFA Institute, the global, not-for-profit association of investment professionals that awards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
