History

Ken Baker & John O'BrienKen Baker and John O'Brien founded Baker & O'Brien, Inc., on February 1, 1993. Their vision was to build a firm that would become known for delivering superior, timely, and cost-effective services to its clients, while also observing the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality. Since then, Baker & O'Brien has served more than 700 different clients on over 1,850 separate engagements. The fundamental principles on which the firm was founded have continued to guide us through the years and are applied to every assignment that we accept, large and small. The success of our practice can be measured by the many clients that return to us again and again for solutions to complex technical and economic issues.

Successful professional consulting relies on a close working relationship between the client and our individual consultants. Such a relationship can only develop when the client recognizes that the consultants are not only qualified and experienced in the tasks confronting them, but that they are continually working with only the client's best interests in mind. Our firm carefully recruits only those consultants with outstanding professional qualifications, a proven track record of industry operating and/or commercial experience, and the highest ethical standards. We apply comparable criteria to our analytical and support staff. The result is a highly responsive client-focused organization.

We want to thank our many clients for their encouragement and support. From six employees at the end of 1993, we have grown to three offices employing over 40 professional and support staff. The demand for our services continues to grow and we will continue to address the many interesting and challenging assignments put before us. As our industry evolves, we will respond with changes to our business model to meet our clients' changing needs. However, we will never compromise our guiding principles of service, commitment, integrity, and confidentiality. Our consultants—and our clients—will be well served by these principles for many years into the future.
